Who are we? 

Digital Core is a tribe of nearly 200 colleagues across Denmark, Lithuania and India.  

We work across 20 cross-functional teams with a shared ambition—becoming a trusted data and platform partner for the bank. We deliver modern and scalable APIs and support the core domains of Customers and Accounts.  

Within Digital Core, you will join the Cornerstone Value Stream—a technological centre of excellence dedicated to empowering other teams by modernising, standardising and optimising their product portfolios. We are part of the Core Capabilities cluster in the TECH organisation, where you will play a crucial role influencing and working with stakeholders across the Group. 

What will you be doing? 

You will be part of a platform squad that is responsible for creating and maintaining reusable components adopted by other squads within Digital Core. This work is a key driver of the tribe’s simplification and modernisation efforts, making it a unique opportunity to join a transformation journey impacting the entire organisation.  

As a chapter lead, you will be the HR manager for a team of skilled software engineers. You will collaborate closely with the squad’s product owner (PO) to create an environment that encourages collaboration, innovation and experimentation. Whether you are guiding engineers in their professional and personal growth, contributing individually to squad deliveries or co-creating technical solutions, your role as a leader will be key in establishing the people foundation needed to shape the tribe’s success and advance its modernisation journey.

You will: 

  • Grow and develop a team of Software Engineers, supporting their professional and personal development through mentoring and leadership 
  • Foster collaboration and alignment across teams in Denmark, India and Lithuania, ensuring psychological safety and trust while bridging diverse personalities and working styles 
  • Define software engineering best practices in collaboration with Chapter Leads, Architects, and Software Engineers, contributing to the simplification and modernisation of the technical landscape 
  • Actively participate in squad deliveries, defining and refining technical solutions to ensure alignment and quality outcomes 
  • Drive modernisation initiatives, such as upgrading legacy systems or platform upgrades, enhancing operational efficiency across the Tribe 
  • Serve as a link between stakeholders, developers, and leadership by facilitating communication and ensuring shared understanding 

 

About you: 

  • Proven experience motivating and aligning teams, fostering collaboration while proactively preventing and resolving misunderstandings.  
  • Solid software development background with hands-on experience in Java (Spring Boot preferred).  
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring and alerting solutions.  
  • Ability to participate in technical refinements and discussions, challenging scope and solutions to ensure high-quality outcomes.  
  • Open-minded and curious about emerging technologies, such as AI  
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear alignment across stakeholders, developers and leadership.
