Analyst (Student Assistant), Technology and Solutions
Do you want to join a global fund manager in energy infrastructure investments? If so, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is currently looking for a Student Analyst to join our Technology & Solutions team based in Copenhagen.
Team
The Technology & Solutions team serves as CIP’s internal hub for emerging technologies, combining technical expertise with commercial and investment perspectives. The team assesses novel technologies and their maturity, tracks global technology developments and trends, and supports investment teams with technology screening, risk assessments and recommendations on new opportunities. The team also leads CIP’s energy system studies, such as the Charging Ahead report, CIP’s roadmap for an electrified, competitive and resilient European energy system towards 2050, and works with cross-functional teams to turn the findings into content supporting CIP’s global Investor Relations and Public Affairs efforts.
Role
As a Student Analyst, you will join a small, specialized team and work closely with CIP’s investment, Investor Relations and Public Affairs teams. This is a part-time position of on average 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate both peak workloads and your studies, such as exam periods. The role offers broad exposure to emerging energy technologies, how they translate into investable projects, and how CIP communicates its view on the future energy system.
Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:
- Assist with technical and commercial assessments of novel technologies to support CIP’s internal knowledge hub
- Assist with novel technology screening of potential investment opportunities, assessing technology maturity, key technical and commercial risks and mitigation strategies, including impact on the business case
- Assist with mapping of global technology developments and trends to support CIP’s business development
- Analyse data for CIP’s energy system study (see Charging Ahead report), and work with cross-functional teams to develop content for Investor Relations and Public Affairs events
- Ad hoc assistance with reporting for function leadership
You
You are currently pursuing an Engineering BSc/MSc degree (e.g. DTU, such as energy-related engineering degrees, and Sustainable Energy Systems or Technologies), with at least 1.5-2 years of studies remaining. You have a keen interest in energy technologies and the energy transition, and ideally relevant experience from student jobs or internships involving assessment and communication of complex topics to senior colleagues. You have solid analytical skills, are detail oriented and can take responsibility and work independently on your tasks while being comfortable translating complex data into effective communication material.
We look for the following in a candidate:
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Skilled at structuring and building clear, compelling slides and presentations
- Solid stakeholder management skills and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Proactive and ambitious, with the motivation to take ownership of tasks and seek out new challenges
