Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead
In the fast-paced world of banking, taking calculated risks is vital — and we are dedicated to transforming how risk and compliance solutions are built, maintained, and modernised. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both the bank's technology landscape and your own professional growth.
Our Risk & Compliance Tribe unites business and IT professionals in cross-functional squads, fostering a truly agile organisation. These squads are self-organised teams, empowering employees to make autonomous decisions while managing the end-to-end delivery of products and services.
You will join the Compliance Group Wide Risk Assessment team — GWRA — which supports various stakeholders across the Compliance organisation. The team is currently modernising its technology stack and moving towards AWS and Databricks across the different products and solutions it offers.
The GWRA team consists of six members located across different locations, working closely together to deliver reliable, scalable, and value-adding solutions. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead who would like to be part of this exciting journey towards new technologies and help shape the future of our data and compliance platforms.
You will play a key role in driving technical direction, building robust data solutions, supporting engineering excellence, and helping the team adopt modern cloud-based and data engineering practices.

Act as a Tech Lead by setting technical direction and ensuring high-quality engineering practices.
Contribute hands-on to solution development using technologies such as Python, SQL, AWS, Databricks, and Terraform.
Support the modernisation of existing platforms and help move solutions towards modern cloud-native architecture.
Build robust, resilient, and scalable distributed systems.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, data engineers, and other technology colleagues.
Promote best practices for coding, testing, deployment, observability, and maintainability.
Support and guide other developers and engineers through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and technical sparring.
Help automate delivery processes through CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
Contribute to architecture discussions and help ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with long-term technology strategy.
Be an active member of the wider engineering community, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement across the tribe.
About You

You have a strong engineering mindset and care about quality, maintainability, automation, and long-term sustainability.
You are comfortable taking technical ownership and guiding others in technical decisions.
You enjoy working in an agile, cross-functional setup with colleagues from different locations and backgrounds.
You communicate clearly and can translate complex technical topics into understandable messages for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
